Citroën Double Electric Van Wins at the Great British Fleet Awards 2021

Citroën Double Electric Van Wins at the Great British Fleet Awards 2021

Date Posted: 20 April 2021

Claiming the coveted ‘Van of the Year’ award, both electric vehicles were praised by those judging on the expert panel and for both companies, it’s another award to add to their already growing collection.

Winners at the Great British Fleet Awards 2021

The expert panel clearly couldn’t let one get the award without the other and it’s clear to see why. Both electric van models are impressive in their design, features and more importantly, they’re doing more to ensure electric vehicles are stepping prominently onto the market so that more drivers will convert to electric perhaps sooner rather than later.

Why Peugeot e-Expert?

The model in question, the e-Expert has a real-life all-electric range that has a wonderful arrangement of features and advanced technologies in its driver assistance.

The managing director of Peugeot UK, Julie David, mentioned that being able to offer vans that not only suited daily needs but removed any worry of congestion zones or ULEZ charges, were great for their existing customers and any new ones looking to make the move.

The Peugeot e-Expert has everything you need in an electric powertrain. Choose between a 50kWh and 75kWh battery. Rapid charging can be completed in 30 minutes for 0-80% for a 50kwh battery and 45 minutes for the 75kWh. This flexibility means that it’s good for those fleets or private users who are looking for this type of vehicle.

When it comes to design, it’s everything you’d expect when you imagine what an electric van would look like. It’s sleek and modern in its silhouette, whilst still providing all the features of a traditional van. The interior is strong and durable for professional needs but still provides a stylish finish.

Providing superior comfort for those who might spend a lot of their time throughout the day in the driver's seat, the cabin is well organised and laid out. The vehicle is kitted out with all the latest modern technologies too including a speed limit recognition, a reversing camera, active safety brakes and smart-beam assistance. It has most features you’d expect to have in any modern-day car but with more focus on this type of vehicle.

Why Citroën ë-Dispatch?

Citroen is another car manufacturer to add more awards to its shelf this year, sharing both the ‘Van of the Year’ and ‘Best EV Van of the Year’. Again, this award was shared by Peugeot too.

The Citroen e-Dispatch is actually the first part of the brand’s commitment when it comes to electrified vehicles and it’s capable of up to 143 miles on the WLTP cycle using a 50kWh battery. Alternatively, the 75kWh battery offers 205 miles. It can be charged at home with a 7Kw Wallbox or at a charging station. Again, its fast ability to charge the battery to 80% within 30 minutes is incredible.

It’s an impressive win for both manufacturers, which are supplied at Sherwoods Motor Group if you’re interested in getting your hands on one.

Sherwoods Motor Group Limited is an Appointed Representative of Automotive Compliance Ltd, who is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA No 497010). Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allows Sherwoods Motor Group Limited to act as a credit broker, not as a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.

We can introduce you to a selected panel of lenders, which includes manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent. An introduction to a lender does not amount to independent financial advice and we act as their agent for this introduction. Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked directly to the particular franchise you are purchasing your vehicle from, who are usually able to offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions. If they are unable to make you an offer of finance, we then seek to introduce you to whichever of the other lenders on our panel is able to make the next best offer of finance for you. Our aim is to secure the best deal you are eligible for from our panel of lenders. Lenders may pay a fixed commission to us for introducing you to them, calculated by reference to the vehicle model or amount you borrow. Different lenders may pay different commissions for such introductions, and manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement, all of which are set by the lender concerned. If you ask us what the amount of commission is, we will tell you in good time before the Finance agreement is executed. All finance applications are subject to status, terms and conditions apply, UK residents only, 18’s or over. Guarantees may be required.
