SUZUKI IGNIS GUIDE

SUZUKI IGNIS GUIDE

Date Posted: 07 March 2024

The Suzuki Ignis is a compact-sized car with a big car attitude. It possesses the look and feel of an SUV while still being small and nimble for city living, promising all drive and no compromise.

Exterior Design

The Suzuki Ignis always has an eye-catching and bold appearance on the roads, radiating a unique personality and presence from every angle. It boasts a fusion of modernity and retro designs, combining boxy SUV elements with staples of contemporary styles. The distinctive character lines and bold front panels adds to its unique presence, while the LED headlights and taillights contribute to the modern aesthetics. Additionally, the compact dimensions of the Ignis makes parking and manoeuvring in tight spaces much easier.

Interior Design

Despite its compact size, the Ignis has impressive practicality. The exterior boxy stylings give way to a roomy interior setting, providing sufficient headroom and legroom for all passengers and making the Ignis comfortable for long journeys and accommodating to taller passengers. The seats are supportive and comfortable which guarantees a relaxing and pleasant experience on both long and short journeys. The material quality varies across the trims with a mix of both hard plastics and softer touch surfaces. Meanwhile, the layout of controls and displays brings a user-friendly environment.

Trims

There are two different trims that come with the Ignis – the SZ-T and the SZ5. The SZ-T variant comes as standard with 16-inch alloy wheels, side mouldings and roof rails as well as added versatility with sliding rear seats and a smartphone link with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other notable features include DAB radio, manual air conditioning and automatic headlights.

Meanwhile, the SZ5 trim boasts several features such as 16-inch alloy wheels, extended wheel arches and rear privacy glass on the exterior as well as several helpful interior features such as automatic air conditioning, cruise control, an infotainment system equipped with satellite navigation, DAB radio and a rear-view camera.

Boot space

The Ignis boasts a boot space of 267 litres standard and 514 litres with the rear seats down, offering a decent amount of space for a vehicle of its stature. With the split-folding rear seats further enhancing the capacity for more cargo, this allows you to adapt the space to your needs and luggage – particularly useful when transporting larger goods and carrying passengers simultaneously.

Performance

With a responsive DUALJET engine and fuel efficient SHVS mild hybrid system, the Ignis brings a new excitement to driving with outstanding performance. The 1.2 DUALJET engine offers both high fuel efficiency and a powerful response, with this balance being made possible by a number of advances such as an electric intake VVT, a variable displacement oil pump and electric piston cooling jets. Meanwhile, the SHVS system assists the engine for higher fuel efficiency, converting kinetic energy generated during deceleration into electric energy which is used by an electric motor function to assist the engine. Elsewhere, the ALLGRIP AUTO feature gives the driver peace of mind in everyday driving, particularly when driving on slippery or snowy surfaces. With this viscous coupling four-wheel drive system, torque is automatically distributed to the rear wheels when it detects the front wheels losing grip of the road.

Safety

The Ignis has several features designed to keep you safe on the roads:

Dual Camera Brake Support

Two cameras recognise forward vehicles, pedestrians and lane lines like human eyes. Based on the various information captured by these cameras, this system helps to avoid collisions and mitigate collision damage through four steps:

  • Warning

When the system decides there is potential for a collision, it provides a warning through a buzzer and a light on the meter panel.

  • Automatic light break

If the risk of collision increases, the car will automatically initiate soft braking as well as set off warnings to encourage the driver to evade collision.

  • Brake assist

If the driver applies the brake while the warning brake function is engaged, the brake assist function engages for more powerful braking.

  • Automatic brake

When the system decides that a collision is inevitable if things continue unchecked, it initiates a strong braking automatically in an effort to avoid collision or mitigate potential damage.

Lane Departure Warning Function

When the vehicle is departing the lane without the use of the turn signal of the driver, the system produces a steering-wheel vibration and provides a warning through a light on the meter panel to draw attention to lane departures caused by factors such as inattention on the road.

Weaving alert

When the vehicle is weaving from side to side within the lane, the system provides a warning using a buzzer and light on the meter panel. This will get the driver’s attention to weaving which may be caused by drowsiness or other factors.

Sherwoods Motor Group Limited is an Appointed Representative of Automotive Compliance Ltd, who is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA No 497010). Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allows Sherwoods Motor Group Limited to act as a credit broker, not as a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.

We can introduce you to a selected panel of lenders, which includes manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent. An introduction to a lender does not amount to independent financial advice and we act as their agent for this introduction. Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked directly to the particular franchise you are purchasing your vehicle from, who are usually able to offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions. If they are unable to make you an offer of finance, we then seek to introduce you to whichever of the other lenders on our panel is able to make the next best offer of finance for you. Our aim is to secure the best deal you are eligible for from our panel of lenders. Lenders may pay a fixed commission to us for introducing you to them, calculated by reference to the vehicle model or amount you borrow. Different lenders may pay different commissions for such introductions, and manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement, all of which are set by the lender concerned. If you ask us what the amount of commission is, we will tell you in good time before the Finance agreement is executed. All finance applications are subject to status, terms and conditions apply, UK residents only, 18’s or over. Guarantees may be required.
