Blending Heritage and Innovation: The Abarth 600e’s Design Driven by Performance

Date Posted: 06 December 2024

The all-new Abarth 600e seamlessly merges the brand’s rich heritage with a bold vision for the future, creating a striking design that visually translates performance. Drawing inspiration from Abarth’s history, the design evokes iconic elements while boldly embracing the electric era.

The exterior design of the Abarth 600e pays homage to the past, reinterpreting classic features like Carlo Abarth’s signature resin spoiler through a modern lens, signalling the brand’s shift to electric power. The design also incorporates a unique blend of past and present, with elements such as the reimagined striped theme and the Scorpion logo, first seen on the Abarth 500e, symbolizing the brand’s electrified future.

A key nod to Abarth’s legacy is the reinterpretation of the Abarth 850 TC’s “cassettone” radiator, giving the 600e a sporty, aggressive front bumper. This echoes the transformation of the Abarth 850 TC from a family car to a victorious racing machine. Similarly, the new spoiler design draws on Carlo Abarth’s innovative approach to aerodynamics, improving drag and performance through meticulous testing in wind tunnels.

The Abarth 600e also introduces a modern, digital-inspired design language with sharp lines, angular shapes, and a geometric approach influenced by the gaming world. These elements create a dynamic, high-tech aesthetic that further enhances the car’s bold appearance, especially in the rear bumper and grille.

In terms of design focus, the Abarth 600e highlights four key elements: the front and rear bumpers, the spoiler, and the wheels. The car’s aggressive stance is accentuated by a forward-leaning profile and a distinctive “shark nose effect,” while its low setup and wider track give it an athletic, racing-inspired look. The 20-inch diamond-alloy wheels are a masterclass in design, combining lightweight strength with aerodynamic functionality and a racing-inspired mono-bolt effect.

The exterior is completed by eye-catching design details, including rear lamp bezels, coffered-inspired shapes, and contrasting black mirror caps and handles, all of which enhance the vehicle’s bold and sporty character. The exclusive Scorpionissima colour options, Acid Green and Hypnotic Purple, further emphasize the car’s aggressive and exhilarating personality.

Inside, the Abarth 600e’s cabin is a testament to Abarth’s commitment to innovation and performance. Drawing from racing heritage, the Sabelt seats and two-spoke steering wheel evoke the brand’s motorsport legacy, offering a high-performance driving experience. The steering wheel is finished in perforated leather and Alcantara, with a special 12 o’clock viewfinder for added sportiness, while the Sabelt racing seats feature unique electro-welded Alcantara with Scorpionflage design, balancing agility with comfort.

The interior’s dark theme is punctuated with coloured accents, including seams and the Scorpion emblem on the steering wheel, elevating the driving experience. The cabin also incorporates high-tech elements like a 7-inch colour TFT cluster with exclusive Abarth graphics, a gaming-inspired ambient lighting system, and a matte black dashboard with glossy black accents, available exclusively with the Scorpionissima.

In the Abarth 600e, legacy and innovation converge to create a design that perfectly balances the brand’s storied past with its forward-thinking electric future, delivering a truly timeless and exhilarating driving experience.

Sherwoods Motor Group Limited is an Appointed Representative of Automotive Compliance Ltd, who is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA No 497010). Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allows Sherwoods Motor Group Limited to act as a credit broker, not as a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.

We can introduce you to a selected panel of lenders, which includes manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent. An introduction to a lender does not amount to independent financial advice and we act as their agent for this introduction. Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked directly to the particular franchise you are purchasing your vehicle from, who are usually able to offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions. If they are unable to make you an offer of finance, we then seek to introduce you to whichever of the other lenders on our panel is able to make the next best offer of finance for you. Our aim is to secure the best deal you are eligible for from our panel of lenders. Lenders may pay a fixed commission to us for introducing you to them, calculated by reference to the vehicle model or amount you borrow. Different lenders may pay different commissions for such introductions, and manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement, all of which are set by the lender concerned. If you ask us what the amount of commission is, we will tell you in good time before the Finance agreement is executed. All finance applications are subject to status, terms and conditions apply, UK residents only, 18’s or over. Guarantees may be required.
