The World Premiere of the new Citroën C4 and C4 X at the Paris Motor Show 2024 marks a major revamp of Citroën's C-segment saloons. Both models exhibit bold yet simplified designs that emphasize modernity, balance, and elegance. The front end has been transformed to incorporate Citroën's new logo, giving both models a strong, assertive presence on the road. The C4 showcases a sleeker rear, while the C4 X retains its fastback styling.

Onboard comfort is enhanced with Citroën Advanced Comfort® features, including new seats, a 7" digital instrument cluster, and up to 20 driver assistance technologies. A strong emphasis is placed on electrification, with electric and hybrid options being the primary focus, although internal combustion engine (ICE) versions will remain available in select markets.

These models maintain their distinctive identities, with the C4 blending saloon and SUV elements and the C4 X offering fastback elegance combined with SUV attitude. The updated designs focus on simplicity and efficiency, with features like aerodynamic 18-inch wheels and refined side guards.

Expected to arrive in dealerships in early 2025, these models signal Citroën’s continued commitment to comfort, innovation, and affordability in the C-segment market.

The new Citroën C4 introduces a more streamlined and aerodynamic rear design, emphasizing simplicity and clarity. The connection between the C-pillar and the rear lights has been refined for a tighter, more cohesive look, which enhances the vehicle’s aerodynamic efficiency. The rear lights have been redesigned to match the bold visual impact of the front, widening the vehicle’s stance and reinforcing its presence on the road. A sleek Glossy Black band links the rear lights, adding a touch of elegance while drawing attention to the Citroën logo.

For the C4 X, the fastback design remains unchanged, with its sloping boot lid emphasizing the car’s dynamic profile. The LED rear lights mirror the front light signature, framing the boot opening and further elevating the car’s stylish appeal. A new Citroën logo on the rear adds to the fresh design language.

Additionally, Citroën has introduced two new colour options: the vibrant Manhattan Green and the sophisticated Mercury Grey, complementing the existing palette of Eclipse Blue, Elixir Red, Okenite White, and Perla Nera Black. The two-tone black roof option remains available, offering a more distinctive and premium appearance to these models.

Advanced Safety and Driver Assistance

The new C4 and C4 X come equipped with up to 20 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) for enhanced safety, including:

• Active Safety Brake: Automatically brakes when a collision risk is detected, day or night, recognizing pedestrians and cyclists.
• Collision Risk Alert: Warns the driver of potential front collisions at speeds over 30 km/h.
• Highway Driver Assist: Semi-autonomous driving, combining adaptive cruise control and lane departure warnings.
• Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go: Maintains a safe distance and can stop and restart without driver input.
  Other features include blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, coffee break alert, and a 360-degree camera system for better visibility.

Spacious Interior

The C4 offers a roomy, practical interior with:

• Best-in-class knee room (198 mm) and a 380-litre boot, expandable to 1,250 litres.
• The C4 X features a 510-litre boot and ample interior space, with comfortable seating for three passengers in the rear.

Powertrain Options

The C4 and C4 X offer versatile electrified powertrains, including the new Hybrid 100 and 136 models, as well as electric versions with ranges of up to 425 km. A 1.2-litre turbo PureTech engine option is also available in select markets, providing a dynamic driving experience.

Hybrid 48V: Simple, Versatile, and Fuel-Efficient

The new Citroën C4 and C4X offer two hybrid options—Hybrid 136 and Hybrid 100—that cut fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 20%, especially beneficial for city driving. Up to 50% of driving can be done in electric mode without needing a charging point, making it user-friendly and cost-effective.

The Hybrid 136 delivers 136bhp and 230Nm of torque, while the Hybrid 100 offers 100bhp and 205Nm. Both systems use a 48V battery that recharges during deceleration and support seamless switching between electric and combustion engines for a smooth drive.

100% Electric: Efficient and Relaxing

The new ë-C4 and ë-C4X offer two electric versions. One has a range of up to 425 km, ideal for long trips, while the other provides 360 km, perfect for daily urban driving. Both models support fast charging, regaining 80% of battery power in under 30 minutes, ensuring convenience for all types of journeys. The electric drive promises quiet, emission-free comfort with instant torque and a smooth, jerk-free experience.

Citroën e-ROUTES: Effortless Journey Planning

The Citroën e-ROUTES app revolutionizes electric vehicle travel by acting as a personal assistant for drivers. It connects to the car in real-time, optimizing routes based on vehicle data, traffic, and charging station availability. This ensures efficient journey management and provides reliable information on charging stops. By 2025, e-ROUTES will be integrated into the car's infotainment system for added convenience.

V2L: Maximizing Energy Use

V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) technology allows the new ë-C4 and ë-C4X to power external devices, turning the vehicle into a flexible energy source. Users can connect devices to a dedicated socket, available as an accessory in early 2025. V2L is ideal for outdoor activities or emergency situations, enabling you to charge devices like laptops or electric bikes directly from your car. Just be mindful of energy management to ensure enough charge remains for driving.
