First Cars Revealed for Government Electric Car Grant – and They’re All Citroëns

First Cars Revealed for Government Electric Car Grant – and They’re All Citroëns

Date Posted: 05 August 2025

  • Citroën’s New ë-C3, New ë-C4, New ë-C4 X, and ë-Berlingo (M1) qualify for £1,500 in UK Government support — with the same grant also available for the New ë-C3 Aircross and New ë-C5 Aircross.

  • The Electric Car Grant applies to models that meet strict technical and environmental standards.

  • All eligible Citroën models are built in Europe, securing the Level 2 £1,500 grant.

  • Citroën offers six electric vehicles priced under £36,000.

  • The Electric Car Grant can be combined with Citroën’s current 0% PCP finance offer.

  • Thanks to the grant, the New ë-C3 starts from £20,595, the New ë-C3 Aircross from £21,595, and the New ë-C5 Aircross from £32,565.

Citroën is proud to announce that the first vehicles in its electric range have been approved for the UK Government’s Electric Car Grant (ECG), reaffirming the brand’s commitment to making electric mobility more affordable and accessible for all. This important initiative allows drivers to explore Citroën’s growing line-up of zero-emission vehicles while benefiting from meaningful savings.

Thanks to the ECG, pricing across Citroën’s electric range is more attractive than ever. The New ë-C3 is now available from just £20,595, the New ë-C3 Aircross from £21,595, and the New ë-C5 Aircross from £32,565. In total, six Citroën electric passenger vehicles now fall below the £36,000 mark — making electric driving more achievable for more people.

In addition to the grant, customers can also take advantage of Citroën’s current finance offer: 0% APR Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) over 24 months, with just a 20% deposit. This combination of government support and flexible finance makes the switch to electric driving even more attainable.

Leading the charge is the New ë-C3 — a European-designed and European-built compact hatchback that blends outstanding value with class-leading comfort and practical features. With its all-electric powertrain, smooth driving experience, and generous equipment levels, the New ë-C3 is the ideal entry point to zero-emission mobility.

Citroën’s eligibility for the Level 2 ECG is a direct result of all its qualifying electric vehicles being assembled in Europe and meeting rigorous environmental and technical standards set by the scheme.

Citroën also offers added peace of mind with its comprehensive WE CARE package, which covers major components such as the electric motor, onboard charger, and transmission for up to 8 years or 100,000 miles. This protection is provided in addition to the standard high-voltage battery warranty of the same duration. WE CARE activates automatically and at no extra cost for an additional two years or 16,000 miles following every qualifying service carried out within the Citroën network.

Sherwoods Motor Group Limited is an Appointed Representative of Automotive Compliance Ltd, who is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA No 497010). Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allows Sherwoods Motor Group Limited to act as a credit broker, not as a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.

We can introduce you to a selected panel of lenders, which includes manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent. An introduction to a lender does not amount to independent financial advice and we act as their agent for this introduction. Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked directly to the particular franchise you are purchasing your vehicle from, who are usually able to offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions. If they are unable to make you an offer of finance, we then seek to introduce you to whichever of the other lenders on our panel is able to make the next best offer of finance for you. Our aim is to secure the best deal you are eligible for from our panel of lenders. Lenders may pay a fixed commission to us for introducing you to them, calculated by reference to the vehicle model or amount you borrow. Different lenders may pay different commissions for such introductions, and manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement, all of which are set by the lender concerned. If you ask us what the amount of commission is, we will tell you in good time before the Finance agreement is executed. All finance applications are subject to status, terms and conditions apply, UK residents only, 18’s or over. Guarantees may be required.
